Volkswagen Vento facelift: More images

Earlier this week, we had reported that Volkswagen India was readying a facelifted version of the Vento sedan (click here to read report). Here are some more images of the refreshed Vento.

The images show the car with a plastic flaps covering the fog lamp housings of the bumper, suggesting that the unit will be redesigned. The grille of the car is larger and inspired by the one on the Passat. The badge on the grille now sits lower, thus eliminating the need for the cut out in the bonnet. The bonnet itself is a new unit with two creases. The headlights of the car are expected to be changed as well.

Images in our previous report revealed that the facelifted Vento gets a new boot lid with a horizontal strip running across it and a restyled rear bumper. On the inside, the Vento gets a darker shade of beige for the dual tone interiors.

The refreshed Vento is likely to continue with the current 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol, 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines as the current model. However, Volkswagen could rework the gear ratios of the DSG transmission to improve drivability.

Autocar India reports that the updated Vento is likely to be introduced in the market by Diwali.
