Volkswagen Polo Allstar special edition to be launched soon

Volkswagen is reported to be readying the special edition Polo Allstar for launch in India. The car was revealed in December 2015, and was also showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The special edition variant commemorates the 2016 UEFA European Championship football tournament.

The Polo Allstar edition features various cosmetic changes to the exteriors as well as interiors. The international-spec model comes with new alloy wheels, headlamp washers, and 'Allstar' badging on the B-Pillars. On the inside, an automatic climate control system and heated seats are a part of the Allstar's feature list.

The Polo Allstar was spotted in India earlier this year. These spy shots showed that the special edition variant gets new alloy wheels, and badging. Heated seats are not expected to make it to the India-spec model, owing to our climate conditions. Media reports also suggest that Volkswagen might introduce new paint shades with the Polo Allstar, including the Blue Silk colour, which is offered with the VW Ameo sedan.

Changes to the powertrain are not expected. The Polo Allstar will continue to be powered by the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, which will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
