An Uneventful Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ownership Update: 5.5 months and 7000 km

The car continues to be great to drive. The most amazing thing is the deceptive way it builds speed - you realise you are at 80 kmph only when it starts beeping.

BHPian Hayek recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Quick update at 5.5 months and 7000 km. Usage has been largely uneventful. The only noteworthy incident was when my driver managed to scratch the left door - got it touched up from the dealer. Hyundai also carried out some kind of campaign based service when the car went for the paint job.

Temperatures in Bombay have been going through the roof - note the 38 C measured in my parking - but was in Powai a little before this, and it showed as high as 44 C (in the sun of course).

A combination of higher temperatures and more East West running at low speeds in the recent past has led to a drop in efficiency stats to 5 km / unit from close to 6 earlier. Not sure if the driver is using the AC a bit while idling as well.

Sharing a few snaps of my running stats:

Overall MID stats. Shows 16.1 units / 100 km or 6.21 km/ kWh. Average speed has been 21 kmph.

Stats tracked by Fuelly. Please ignore the fact that it shows KMPL - have been feeding number of units consumed as per the Hyundai charger instead of litres of fuel added. Average is 6 km / kWh but the last two fuel ups have been closer to 5.

Overall have spent an estimated ₹11,000 on electricity - this is more or less in line with my bills as well. Have recharged 24 times so far in 23 weeks of ownership - so a little over once a week.

The car continues to be great to drive. The most amazing thing is the deceptive way it builds speed - you realise you are at 80 kmph only when it starts beeping. Not managed any highway drives since our Alibaug trip - will look to take it out once the monsoons set in.
