Toyota's upcoming cars for India

Toyota is developing a new SUV for India. The vehicle is based on the Etios platform and will be a front-wheel drive. The SUV will be powered by the same 1.5 litre petrol engine that does duty in the Etios. Additionally, we expect Toyota to offer the 1.4 D-4D diesel as well.  Apart from the engines, the SUV will share many other parts with the Etios.

The Japanese auto giant will display its new Corolla at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2014. While there have been changes to the styling of the car, the engine and transmission configurations from the current Corolla Altis are expected to be carried over to the new car.

There is an all-new Innova in the pipeline as well. The recent facelift is the last version of the current Innova. Toyota is scheduled to replace it with the new Innova in 2015. There is a chance that Toyota might launch the new Innova in India first, and then in Indonesia.
