Thailand: 150cc Yamaha M-Slaz / MT-15 launched

Yamaha has announced that the 150cc M-Slaz will go on sale in Thailand this month. The engine and chassis have been developed off the platform of the YZF-R15 and the M-Slaz / MT-15 is essentially a street fighter version of the R15.

The main features of the M-Slaz include inverted front forks, a more upright riding position vs the R15 for added urban convenience, an LCD instrument cluster and an LED headlight. Yamaha is targeting sales of around 48,000 units a year in Thailand.

The exact specifications of the M-Slaz are unknown, but it will use a 149cc single-cylinder engine mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox, with output figures expected to be in the region of 17 BHP / 15 Nm of torque.
