Tata Tiago JTP caught testing

A test mule of the Tata Tiago JTP has been spotted in India for the first time. Rumours suggest that Tata Motors could be planning to launch the sporty version of the hatchback during the upcoming festive season.

Tata Motors and Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives have collaborated to develop the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP that were unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. Like the concept showcased earlier, the test mule appears to have a bonnet vent and a revised front bumper. It features halogen headlights instead of projectors and has body coloured electric ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The JTP logo is missing from the front grille. While the test mule is riding on steel wheels, the production-spec Tiago JTP is likely to get alloy wheels.

The Tiago JTP is likely to get a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of peak torque @ 2,000-4,000 rpm. It will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

There has been no official word from Tata Motors regarding the launch of the Tiago JTP.
