6th-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class spotted in India ahead of launch

The Mercedes E-Class LWB will take on the BMW 5 Series LWB, which will go on sale in July.

In 2023, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the sixth generation E-Class for global markets. Mercedes will offer the long-wheelbase version of the sedan in India. The launch could be imminent, as the latest model has just been spotted at the factory in Chakan, Pune.

The new E-Class LWB measures 5,092 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,493 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 3,094 mm.

The 6th-generation E-Class features a redesigned front fascia with a piano black finish around the front grille and reprofiled LED headlamps. The car gets quad-tail lights with unique star-shaped brake lights and flush-fitting door handles.

Inside, the new E-Class gets Mercedes’ “Superscreen” setup that includes a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre with an additional screen on the passenger side and a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster. The sedan also features power-reclining rear seats with an ottoman function, air suspension, and rear wheel steering.

The India-spec E-Class LWB is likely to come with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines paired with a mild-hybrid system.
