Tata Safari Storme facelift brochure leaked

The launch of the Tata Safari Storme facelift seems to be just around the corner. Yesterday, the product guide of the SUV was revealed and now the brochure has made it to the internet.

The facelifted Storme will be powered by a 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine, capable of producing 148 bhp @ 4000 rpm (a gain of 10 bhp) and 320 Nm of torque @ 1700-2700 rpm. The vehicle continues to use a 5-speed manual transmission.

According to the brochure, the Storme will be available in three variants - LX (base), EX (mid) and VX (top). While the LX and EX are available only in a 4x2 configuration, the VX can be bought as a 4x2 or a 4x4 with a shift-on-the-fly system and a limited slip differential. The EX and VX come with disc brake all round, while the LX gets drums at the rear. The base variant also comes with 15-inch steel wheels while the EX comes with 16-inch steel rims and the VX with 16-inch alloys.

On the inside, the Strome gets a java black dashboard with silver accents and the same three-spoke steering wheel as the Zest and Bolt. The EX and VX variants get a Harman-developed integrated audio system with Bluetooth, Aux and USB connectivity and steering -mounted controls. The LX can also be had with sandstone beige interiors. The EX and VX get a seven seater configuration while the LX is a five seater. On the safety front, the LX gets no ABS or airbags. While the EX adds ABS to the equipment list, those looking for airbags will have to choose the VX. The top variant also gets reverse parking sensors with a display in the screen of the infotainment system.

The facelifted Storme gets new Land Rover-inspired honeycomb upper and lower grilles and a tweaked front bumper. The VX gets body chrome ORVMs, while the EX and LX get body coloured ones. The higher variants also get side foot steps. The SUV will be available in five colours - Urban Bronze, Astern black, Pearl White, Arctic White and Arctic Silver. All variants get projector headlamps.

Details on the launch date of the Safari Storme facelift are awaited.
