Tata Motors & IOCL create rest areas for truck drivers

Tata Motors has collaborated with the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) to launch rest areas for truck drivers called 'Saarthi Aaram Kendra'. The first such rest stop was inaugurated at Bawal on the NH8.

The Saarthi Aaram Kendras will have various facilities including restrooms, restaurants, secured parking with CCTV cameras, self-cooking facilities, launderette, open bathing facility, barber shop, clean drinking water, TV and Wi-Fi. The premises will also house a service workshop.

IOCL undertakes welfare programs for long distance drivers including eye check-ups and training for safe driving practices. Tata Motors also has a program called Tata Motors Samarth, under which the company offers accidental insurance, hospitalization cover, financial counselling and educational assistance packages for their children.
