Suzuki Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 & V-Strom 250 recalled

All three motorcycles use the same 249cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine.

Suzuki Motorcycles has recalled its 250cc offerings, the Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 and the V-Strom 250 SX.

The recall is said to be due to an issue with the engine camshaft, resulting in an abnormal wear of the exhaust cam lobe. Reports state that it is being caused due to improper heat treatment of parts in a certain batch of engines. The affected engines could suffer from sudden stalling and/or make abnormal noises.

Suzuki is said to be identifying the batch of engines with the issue and contacting the respective owners. The defective part will be replaced across Suzuki's official service centres for free.

All three motorcycles use the same 249cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine. This is the second recall for the 250cc models, the first was back in 2021 when 199 units were recalled for excessive engine vibrations.

Reports though doesn't mention the exact number of vehicles affected or the manufacturing timeline.
