Skoda’s seven seater SUV could be revealed in 2015

Brands under the Volkswagen group have been expanding their SUV portfolio across the spectrum. Skoda has been working on a new 7 seater SUV itself and according to a recent report, the model could be revealed towards the end of this year.

The SUV is expected to be based on a similar architecture as the new Superb called MQB B and the styling cues are likely to be shared with the saloon as well. The SUV will have AWD variants offered in select markets, while front wheel drive will be available as well. Like the Superb, this SUV is expected to offer a generous amount of boot space as well.

Powertrain options will be shared with the Skoda Superb, and though Skoda India has not stated any plans to bring the SUV to our sub-continent, the model could be brought in to capitalize on the lucrative SUV space - something the Yeti has failed to do. The model’s name has not been confirmed, but reports suggest that the name “Snowman” is off the books.
