Toyota is gearing up to launch the Yaris around May 18, 2018. Now, a few leaked documents suggest that the car will be offered in 4 variants - J, G, V and VX. As reported earlier, the Yaris will only be available with a petrol engine paired with either a manual or CVT gearbox.

In terms of standard equipment, the Yaris gets projector headlamps, electrically adjustable ORVMs, power windows, air-conditioning, audio system with 4 speakers, height adjustable driver seat, power steering with tilt adjustment, cooled glove box and 60:40 split folding rear seat. Safety features like 7 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, keyless entry and central locking are also offered as standard across all variants.

The G variant gets a chrome grille and electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn signals, while on the inside, it comes with a 7-inch infotainment system with 4 speakers, automatic climate control with roof mounted air-conditioning vent and ambient light, Smart Entry with push button start and a multi-functional steering wheel. The G variants gets 2 parking sensors in the rear, front and rear fog lamps, speed sensing auto door lock, impact sensing door unlock and rear defogger. 

The V variant gets 15-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes at all four corners. The 7-inch infotainment system comes with 6 speakers, while additional features like reverse camera, cruise control and rain sensing wipers have been added. It also gets 4 parking sensors in the rear and 2 in the front, automatic headlamps with follow-me home function and LED rear combi lamp with line guide.

The top-spec VX trim is only available with the 7-speed CVT with paddle shift. This variant comes with LED DRLs, 7-inch infotainment system with 6-speakers, leather seats, 8-way power adjustable driver seat and rear sunshade. Additional safety features offered on this variant include vehicle stability control (VSC), hill start assist as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system.

A 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with a peak output of around 106 BHP will power the Toyota Yaris. A 6-speed manual transmission will be standard, while the 7-speed CVT will be available as an option on all variants. Moreover, there will be 6 exterior colours to choose from - Super White, White Pearl Crystal Shine (not available on the J trim), Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Wildfire Red and Phantom Brown.
