Scoop: 2015 Ford EcoSport facelift spotted testing in India

Ford revealed the facelifted Ford EcoSport at the Geneva Motor Show which was held in March 2015 (click here to read report). Now, the car has been spotted near Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The refreshed EcoSport does not get a tail gate-mounted spare wheel. The EcoSport shown at Geneva had a tyre mobility kit. Whether Ford follows the same policy in India or simply relocates the spare wheel, it remains to be seen. The EcoSport also gets a revised rear swing-gate that enables easier partial opening when limited space is available. This test mule was seen with a revised rear bumper with a silver skid plate, a privacy glass and UK-spec alloy wheels.

Coming to the interiors, the EcoSport is likely to get changes in line with the car displayed at Geneva.

The EcoSport is likely to continue using the same engines as the current model, but they could be tweaked to develop more power and comply with stricter emission norms. The suspension of the crossover is likely to be reworked as well.

Ford has not revealed any particular date for launch of the facelifted EcoSport in India. However, it is likely that the company could introduce it in the market in the second half of 2015.
