Rumour: Toyota Etios facelift to launch on September 13

Recent media reports suggest that the 2016 Toyota Etios facelift will be launched in India on September 13, 2016. The facelifted Etios will have a similar exterior design to the one that was recently unveiled in Brazil.

The new Etios will get a redesigned front bumper with a broad blacked out area. The grille now gets a V-shape, with a chrome strip running along the top-edge. The car's silhouette is identical to the present model, though Toyota might offer new 15-inch alloys with the facelift. The only change at the rear would likely be the redesigned bumper.

On the inside, the Etios facelift in India will continue to be offered with a dual-tone dashboard, instead of the all-black layout found on the Brazil-spec model.

There won't be any specification related changes to the Etios facelift, as it will continue to be powered by two engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol which produces 89 BHP and 132 Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre diesel which churns out 67 BHP and 170 Nm of torque. The only transmission option available will be a 5-speed manual gearbox.
