Tata Motors has begun road trials of the Nexon facelift. Test mules have been spotted undergoing cold weather testing in Manali. BHPian balmagbrezjim got a chance to interact with test engineers of one such prototype.
During the conversation, the engineers revealed that the car being tested was a DCT variant. Perhaps we can expect the Nexon facelift to be offered with the dual-clutch automatic transmission from the Altroz DCA.
It is also said that the Nexon facelift could be named differently and is likely to be launched around June-July.
Spy images suggest that the Nexon facelift would borrow styling cues from the Curvv concept. It gets an upright front fascia with an LED strip that stretches across the width of the car, split headlamps and a trapezoidal grille.
The updated Nexon is expected to get slimmer tail lamp units and a new steering wheel. Reports suggest that higher variants might also come equipped with ADAS.
Under the bonnet, the new Nexon is expected to get the new-gen 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that was announced at Auto Expo 2023. This engine develops 123 BHP and 225 Nm. The current 1.5-litre diesel engine is likely to be offered as an option.
