Rumour: Tata Hexa to launch on January 18, 2017

As per recent media reports, Tata Motors will be launching the Hexa SUV in India on January 18, 2017. A previous report had mentioned the launch to be scheduled for January 16, 2017. The company hasn’t yet revealed any official information about the Hexa's launch date.

The Tata Hexa, which is essentially a redesigned and improved version of the Aria, will be available in six variants: XE, XM, XMA, XT, XT (4x4) and XTA. The first three trims will be offered with 7-seats, while the XT, XT (4x4) and XTA will come with a 6-seater layout, i.e., these variants will have captain seats in the second row.

Powering the Hexa will be a 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine that develops 154 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, while being mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Lowest XE variant gets the 2.2L diesel with 148 BHP & 320 Nm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
