Rumour: Nissan Terrano AMT to launch in festive season

If recent media reports are to be believed, Nissan India is planning to launch an AMT version of the Terrano by this year's festive season. The AMT unit of the Terrano will be the similar to the EasyR transmission that is offered with the Renault Duster AMT.

The Terrano is currently available with two engine options: a 1.6-litre petrol that develops 103 BHP and a 1.5-litre diesel that is offered in two states of tune - 84 BHP and 109 BHP. Similar to the configuration of the Duster, the Terrano AMT too is expected to be offered with the 109 BHP diesel trim.

There won't be any cosmetic changes on the outside of the AMT variant, though the interiors might get new upholstery. Features on offer will include a touchscreen music system with navigation, and automatic climate control.

The Terrano is the second best-selling car in Nissan's Indian portfolio, just after the Micra hatchback. But in terms of number of units sold, the Terrano manages around 300 units every month.
