Rumour: Lexus LX 450d priced at Rs 3.06 crore, on-road Mumbai

Lexus officially started its Indian operations around two months back. To mark its debut, the company introduced three vehicles in its portfolio - ES 300h, RX 450h and the LX 450d. At the unveiling, Lexus announced prices of only the first two car lines and confirmed that price of the LX 450d will be announced at a later date. As per media reports, Lexus has now revealed that the LX 450d will be priced in India at Rs. 3.06 crore (on-road, Mumbai). The prices haven't yet been updated on the company's official website.

The LX 450d is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser. It also uses the same 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel that powers the LC200. This engine can develop 261 BHP and 650 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Lexus claims that the LX 450d can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, before hitting its top speed of 210 km/h. It comes with an all-wheel drive system as standard.

Internationally, the Lexus LX 450d is a competitor to the Mercedes GLS and the Audi Q7. However, if the said prices are indeed true, the LX 450d in India has been priced way over its direct competitors and has thus been placed in the Range Rover territory.
