Lexus LX 450d imported into India for homologation

Lexus has imported a single unit of the LX 450d SUV in India. The SUV has been specifically imported for certification purposes, as shown in the Zauba records. The LX 450d has been imported from Japan, and was recently docked at the Ennore port, near Chennai, on 29th June 2016.

Lexus is the luxury car division of Toyota. This new import comes a few weeks after the Japanese luxury car maker brought in a single unit of the ES 300h hybrid sedan for certification. Going by these new import trends, Toyota India seems to be planning to launch the Lexus brand in the country in the near future.

LX 450d is powered by a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine, which is capable of generating 272 BHP @ 1600-2800 RPM and maximum torque of 650 Nm. This power is delivered to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission.
