Rumour: Jeep Compass Limited Plus launch in October 2018

According to a media report, Jeep is likely to launch a new variant of the Compass called the Limited Plus next month.

The Limited Plus is expected to be positioned above the current top-spec Limited trim. A spy image indicates that the Limited Plus variant is likely to get a dual-tone exterior with chrome trim and dual-tone alloy wheels. The SUV is likely to get a panoramic sunroof as well.

On the inside, the Limited Plus variant will reportedly get an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well as power adjustable driver and front passenger seats. Features such as dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags and rain-sensing wipers are likely to be offered as standard.

Reports suggest that the Limited Plus variant will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. These include a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 160 BHP and 250 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit that makes 171 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. Both engines are likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
