Rumour: Hyundai to launch Verna 1.4 diesel in CX trim

With the launch of the fourth-generation Honda City, the competition in the C2 sedan segment has intensified. The car has garnered more than 9,000 bookings. The segment-leading Hyundai Verna, which has been selling at approximately 4,100 units a month, is in danger of losing its position.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is responding to the challenge and is believed to be readying a new variant of the Verna. The CX, as it will be called, is likely to sport features like electro-chromatic mirror, rear parking camera with parking sensors, 2 DIN audio with Bluetooth and steering-mounted controls, fully automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors with integrated turn indicators, anti-lock braking system and driver airbag.

The CX will be placed between the EX and SX variants and will be available only on the 1.4-litre diesel powered Verna.
