Rumour: Aprilia to launch Shiver 900, Dorsoduro 900 in India

As per media reports, Aprilia is planning to launch the Shiver 900 and Dorsoduro 900 in India. While the two-wheeler manufacturer hasn't revealed a launch date yet, speculations suggest that the two bikes will be launched in the July - August period, this year.

The two bikes were globally unveiled at last year's EICMA show and mark a replacement of the corresponding 750 variants. While the Shiver is a naked streetfighter, the Dorsoduro is inclined towards adventure biking.

Both the bikes - Shiver 900 and Dorsoduro 900, are powered by an 896 cc, V-twin engine that can develop 94 BHP @ 8,750 rpm and 90 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension setup on the Shiver 900 and Dorsoduro 900 include 41 mm Kayaba inverted forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear.

Braking duties are handled by twin 320 mm discs with four-piston Brembo calipers at the front and a single 240 mm disc with a single-piston Brembo caliper at the rear. The two bikes also come with ABS, switchable traction control and variable riding modes. Additionally, there is an infotainment system on offer that is compatible with Bluetooth connectivity to pair the rider's smartphone.

Once launched in India, the Aprilia Shiver 900 will be competing against Ducati Monster 821, while the Dorsoduro 900 will go up against the Ducati Hypermotard 939.
