Rumour: 2nd-gen Maruti Ertiga to be launched in October 2018

According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the second generation Ertiga by the end of October 2018.

The new-gen Ertiga was launched in Indonesia earlier this year. The new MPV is longer and wider than the outgoing model but has an identical wheelbase. In terms of styling, the new Ertiga gets a revised front end featuring a new grille with chrome inserts flanked by twin-pod projector headlamps. The front bumper comes with circular fog lamps. At the rear, new Ertiga gets L-shaped tail lamp clusters and a redesigned bumper with integrated reflectors.

On the inside, the new model gets a dual-tone dashboard with a floating touchscreen infotainment system. It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering and revised instrument cluster with a twin-dial setup and a MID in the centre.

In India, the second generation Ertiga is expected to be offered with the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid technology that made its debut on the Ciaz facelift, while the 1.3-litre diesel unit is likely to be carried over unchanged.
