Royal Enfield acquires Harris Performance (UK)

Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield, has acquired motorcycle design and performance firm, Harris Performance Products Ltd. The Eicher Motors-owned company, will take over all assets, employees, trade names, technical know-how and intellectual property of the UK-based company. The amount paid by Royal Enfield for the takeover remains undisclosed.

The employees of Harris Performance will become employees of Royal Enfield and will be take the responsibility of performance and development engineering for the company's new range of motorcycles. They will be part of Royal Enfield's upcoming UK Tech Centre.

Harris Performance has worked with Royal Enfield before had has developed the chassis for the Continental GT café racer. It has been a technical partner of the Chennai-based company for many years.

Apart from working with Royal Enfield, Harris Performance has been the only manufacturer from the UK to have been officially commissioned by Yamaha and Suzuki to design, develop and manufacture race bikes for Grand Prix and World Superbike.
