Renault launches its first design academy in India

Renault will be commencing operations of its first design academy in India on April 3, 2017. The academy will operate out of the Renault design studio in Chennai.

The programme will have 6 design graduates who will undergo design training for six months, after which they will get a professional internship certificate. The best two candidates will receive a job offer from Renault as a permanent designer.

Among the 400 entries from across the world, 6 design graduates have been chosen and they would be working on a project under the guidance of 12 Renault designers form India and France. The training modules will include Exterior & Interior design, C&T & Trends, Digital Modelling, Manual Modelling, French automobile Design, Design Management etc. The candidates would be presenting the final project to the top management.

The first six candidates who have been chosen for the program:

•    Rohit Dhiman, India (IAAD Design University in Torino Italy)
•    Smitesh Chavanke, India (ISD RUBIKA Design school Pune)
•    Nikhil Sorte, India (ISD RUBIKA Design school Pune)
•    Gautam Muthuswamy, India (ISD RUBIKA Design school Pune)
•    Yimeng Li, China (CCS Detroit Design school USA)
•    Alireza Salehi, Iran (IAAD Design University in Torino Italy)
