Real world fuel efficiency of the Mahindra Thar 4x4 petrol & diesel

The worst I have got till date is 8.3 kpl. This is via the tankful to tankful method.

BHPian Dippy recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Been driving a Thar petrol AT 4x4 for almost two years now as my daily. I consistently get 9.6 to 9.8 kpl in city driving. The worst I have got till date is 8.3. This is via the tankful to tankful method.

If those FE figures work for you then you can surely go for it. The mStallion engine is very refined and a fantastic engine.

Thats astonishing considering I get between 7-8 KMPL in regular Bengaluru city Whitefield traffic Tankful-to-Tankful method. I used to get 10-11kmpl in Hyderabad ORR side areas where traffic was relatively sparse compared to Bengaluru. On regular highway roads (not expressways) I never got more than 13 kmpl. I am a sedate driver and have 2022 D-AT 4*4 combo.

Been getting the same figures. 7.5kmpl for crawling around Bellandur area in Bangalore. Highway trips push it up to 11.5kmpl on my Diesel AT Thar.

I too get the exact same figures in my Nov 2021 Mfg Thar D MLD HT AT 4*4. 10-11 KMPL in Himachal Pradesh mostly driven in city, The best milage I have recorded is 13.35 KMPL while commuting on highway between Gurgaon and Solan. In Gurgaon average is 10-11 KMPL mostly driven in heavy city traffic. However, in a recent trip to Jalori Pass, with full load (We were 3 people and had all the camping equipment) and driven enthusiastically, average dropped to 8.78 KMPL, which I guess is pretty good considering the high altitude and tortuous and craggy mountain road.
