India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has recalled 1,03,311 cars to rectify a problem with their fuel filler necks. Maruti Suzuki claims that in the affected vehicles, there is a possibility of fuel smell and in extreme conditions there may be some fuel leakage, if fuel is filled up to the fuel cap, beyond the 'auto cut-off level'.
The company's dealers will contact owners of all the affected vehicles and the company will replace the affected part free of cost. New fuel filler necks are being progressively dispatched to workshops and the company is building up stocks at workshops before inviting customers.

Additionally, owners of the abovementioned Maruti Suzuki models who have bought their cars post November 12, 2013 can log on to the manufacturer’s website and ascertain if their vehicles are in the list of recalled vehicles. Owners need to enter their car’s chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) in the provided field.

Alternately, owners can visit the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain the same.
