Ferrari parts ways with Indian distributor

Italian supercar manufacturer, Ferrari has parted ways with its official importer in India, Automobili Italia Private Ltd.

Set up especially for Ferrari by the Ashish Chordia led Shreyans Group, Automobili Italia Private Ltd. has been handling sales and service of Ferrari cars in India since 2011, when the Italian manufacturer officially entered the country.

However, a number of complaints from customers regarding delays in delivery of vehicles and poor after sales service has prompted Ferrari to terminate its contract with the Shreyans Group.

Ferrari has said that it will contact its existing customers directly and provide assistance to ensure a good ownership experience till a new official importer is appointed.

The Shreyans Group has, in the past, handled distribution and service operations for brands like Porsche, Audi and Ducati. All these manufacturers parted ways with Shreyans citing similar reasons to Ferrari's. Porsche, Audi and Ducati have now re-entered India independently.
