Next-gen Mitsubishi Pajero Sport coming to India in 2017

Earlier this year, Mitsubishi revealed the next-generation Pajero Sport in Thailand (click here to read report). The vehicle competes against the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.

Media reports suggest that Mitsubishi will launch the car in India in 2017. CKD kits of the car will be brought to India from Thailand and assembled at the Hindustan Motors plant near Chennai.

The new Pajero Sport sports the company's new design language and looks radically different compared to the current Pajero Sport. The interiors of the vehicle have been redesigned as well.

The Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbo diesel engine that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also comes with a Super-Select 4WD-II four-wheel drive system.

The new Pajero Sport is expected go on sale in in Thailand later this year. Mitsubishi plans to sell it in more than 90 countries in total.
