Next-gen Hyundai Verna leaked ahead of launch

The new Verna will be offered with an all-new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine.

Hyundai India opened the order books for the next-gen Verna earlier this week. Now, just hours later, the first images of the next-gen Hyundai Verna have leaked online.

Hyundai has adopted its ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language for the new Verna. It features an Elantra-like front end with a large grille and split headlamps with an LED light bar stretching across the front fascia.

The Verna gets sharp feature lines on the side similar to the Elantra and Tucson. The car appears to have pull-type door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels and slim LED taillights with an LED light bar at the rear.

The new Verna will be available with two engine options. These include an all-new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit that will be offered with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed IVT. Both engines are RDE and E20-compliant.
