My Interceptor 650 sounds "public-friendly" with new custom DB killers

I contacted PowerRage Exhausts and they sent me a new pair for my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 for Rs 2,000.

BHPian rajeevsulu recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

My bike hit the 37k km mark a couple of days back. While heading back home, I heard a funny sound over and above my earplugs and helmet. This "tinny" sound was "on" above 60 kmph and disappeared below the above-mentioned speed.

I reached home and checked the exhaust and found the left DB killer was loose. On taking it out, I discovered that I would not be able to put it back as the metal had disintegrated.

My exhaust is Powerage, and they operate out of Coimbatore. I remembered seeing a custom-made DB killer in their brochure a few months ago and messaged the owner regarding availability. These DB killers are longer and closed at one end.

They cost Rs.2000 a pair, and I got them today. I put them into the exhaust with the given Allen key and did a small test ride. The sound is a lot muted and much easier on the ear, and should be more "public friendly".
