According to a media report, the made-in-India BMW CE 02 electric scooter accounts for 86% of India’s total electric 2-wheeler exports in FY2025.
TVS Motor Company led EV exports with 5,913 units, which mostly included BMW CE 02 premium e-scooters. Followed by Ather Energy with 805 units and Bajaj Auto with 125 Chetak e-scooters.
India’s scooter exports stood at 5.69 lakh units in FY2025, out of which electric scooters accounted for just 1%. However, that is still higher than the previous year. Electric scooter exports grew by 325% to just under 7,000 units in FY2025.
The BMW CE 02 was launched in India in October last year. It is manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant near Bangalore. Exports of the CE 02 commenced in April 2024, and account for around 75% of the company's total exports.
