MY 2016 VW Jetta gets a new infotainment system

A big thank you to BHPian dharmapurikar for bringing this to our notice. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing the information with fellow enthusiasts.

Volkswagen has silently upgraded the infotainment system in the MY 2016 Jetta. Now, the Jetta gets a new touchscreen infotainment system, like the one introduced in the all-new Beetle which was launched a few days ago.

The new system includes a touchscreen display with a better user interface, a single CD player (earlier car had a 6 CD changer), SD card reader, AUX-in, USB & Bluetooth connectivity. Also, the system displays the park pilot with adaptive reverse guidelines. However, the Jetta is still not equipped with a reverse camera. Like the older system, it gets a total of 4 speakers + 4 tweeters.

The new Volkswagen Ameo is also rumoured to be equipped with a new infotainment system. We'll have to wait and see whether VW's new compact sedan will be equipped with the same infotainment system as its 20 lakh+ elder sibling.
