Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer and Bobber India launch in August 2016

Piaggio is planning to launch a couple of Moto Guzzi bikes, the V9 Roamer and the V9 Bobber, in India by the end of this month. Both these 853 cc motorcycles will be brought in as CBUs (Completely Built Up units).

Moto Guzzi showcased the V9 Roamer and Bobber at this year's Auto Expo in Greater Noida. The V9 range of bikes made its global debut last year in Europe. The Italian two-wheeler manufacturer introduced these new bikes to address the growing global demand of mid-size motorcycles.

Both the V9 bikes are designed to give a classic Italian cruiser look. As a result, they offer an upright seating position, and come with wide handlebars, a slim single seat, and a long fuel tank.

The Roamer and Bobber are built on the same platform, and are powered by the same 853 cc V-twin engine that has been mounted transversely in the company's signature fashion. This engine is capable of developing 54 BHP and 62 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Both these Moto Guzzi V9 bikes will be sold through Piaggio's MotoPlex multi-brand dealerships. They will compete against the Harley Davidson Iron 883 and the Triumph Street Twin.
