Mini launches refreshed Countryman; cuts prices in India

Mini has launched a refreshed version of the Countryman in India. The car is imported as a CBU and priced at Rs. 36.50 lakh (ex-showroom, all India).

The refreshed Countryman is available with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine and 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission only. This engine produces 110 BHP and 270 Nm of torque. Mini claims that the car can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 11.3 second and attain a top speed of 185 kph.

The Countryman gets a redesigned hexagonal grille, reworked front and rear bumpers and side skirts. Features include xenon headlights with LED fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels and vertical rear light clusters.

The interior of the Countryman features a newly configured range of interior colours, trim elements and upholstery materials. Equipment includes height-adjustable sports leather seats, multifunction, leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, paddle shifters, 40:20:40 split rear seat, and a 10-spealer 640W Harmon Kardon music system. Optional equipment includes a panaoramic glass roof. Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, stability control including traction control, anti-lock braking system, brake assist and run-flat indicator.

The Countryman is also equipped with an automatic start/stop function, brake energy regeneration and electric power steering among other technologies.

Mini has also revised the price of its entire range of cars available in India. All models are imported as CBU (Completely Built-Up) units.

This revision in prices comes just a day after the launch of the Fiat Abart 595 Competizione. The Cooper S 3 Door is now priced at Rs. 31.50 lakh - Rs. 3 lakh lesser than before. The 595 Competizione is priced at Rs. 29.85 lakh.
