MG offering ZS EV extended test drives for a few days

According to an advertisement in 'The Times of India' newspaper in Bangalore, MG is offering customers the chance to test drive the ZS EV for a few days. The ad does not specify the number of days the car will be given for a test drive. This will help prospective customers to get a feel of how it will be to live with an electric car. Whether such extended test drives are offered in other cities is not known.

The electric SUV is available in two variants - Excite and Exclusive. Powering the ZS EV is an electric motor producing 141 BHP and 353 Nm. It comes with a 44.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The claimed maximum range on a single charge is 340 km. MG claims that the battery can be recharged to 80% of its capacity in 50 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger.

The SUV is equipped with projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, push button start stop with Smart Entry, 3-level Kinetic Energy Recovery System, cruise control, auto headlamps with follow me home function, and power adjustable ORVMs.

The car also received 5 stars in crash tests conducted by Euro NCAP.
