Mercedes-Benz S-Cabriolet & C-Cabriolet India launch on Nov 9

Mercedes-Benz will be launching the S-Cabriolet and C-Cabriolet in India on November 9, 2016. The C-Cabriolet will be placed at the bottom of Mercedes' open-top range, while the S-Cabriolet will be leading the line-up.

Both cars will be sharing most of the design cues and features with their respective coupe siblings. The C-Cabriolet was globally unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. In India, Mercedes is expected to bring it in the C 300 guise, that is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Meanwhile, the S-Cabriolet was showcased in India at this year's Auto Expo in Greater Noida. It is expected to be powered by a 4.7-litre V8 biturbo engine that churns out 443 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. The S-Cabriolet features the longest soft top ever seen on a Mercedes car.

Once launched, the C-Class Cabriolet will compete with the Audi A3 Cabriolet and the BMW 4-series convertible. Meanwhile, the more expensive S-Cabriolet doesn't really have a head-on rival in the Indian market.

Further information about the two convertibles will be revealed at the launch event in New Delhi.
