Mercedes-Benz S 400 sedan launched in India at Rs. 1.31 crore

Mercedes-Benz has launched the S 400 sedan in India at a price of Rs. 1.31 crore (ex-showroom, Hyderabad). The S 400 will be locally manufactured in the company's production facility in Chakan, Pune.

Powering the S 400 is a 2,996cc, V6 petrol engine that produces 329 BHP @ 5,250-6,000 rpm and 480 Nm of torque @ 1600-4000 rpm. The car comes with a 7-speed (7G-TRONIC PLUS) automatic transmission.

The S 400 is equipped with all-LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, wood trim, a 1,520W Burmester 3D surround sound system with 24 speakers, individual entertainment systems in the rear, ambient lighting with 7 different colours and 5 dimming levels, COMAND online New Generation Telematics 5 with animated menus and 3D effects, an HDD to store music and videos, WLAN hotspot, SMS display, phone contact reader, radio and navigation. Other features include AIRMATIC suspension and seats with massage function.

Safety systems include 8 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), PRE-SAFE, Dynamic cornering control system, Adaptive Brake with HOLD Function, Brake Assist, ASR Hill Start Assist, 360 Degree Surround View Camera and an Active Park Assist.
