According to Zauba, the variant imported is a GLC 300 4MATIC. In global markets, this variant gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 238 BHP and 370 Nm of torque. The vehicle comes with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system.

The GLC-Class replaces the GLK-Class and sits between the GLA-Class and GLE-Class in the Mercedes-Benz SUV line-up. It features a curvy body with creases on the bonnet and sides. The car comes with headlamps similar to those of the C-Class and S-Class, a two-slat chrome radiator grille, bumpers with skid plates, alloy wheels, roof rails, dual exhausts and LED tail lights.

The interior of the car features wood and leather trim. The car gets a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, along with features like an engine start/stop button, a tablet-type display for the infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, power-foldable split rear seat and a power lift tailgate among others. Safety features such as a rear view camera, collision prevention assist plus, airbags, ABS, ESP, brake assist, anti-theft alarm and rain-sensing wipers are available as standard equipment.

The GLC-Class is expected to be launched in India in 2016.
