Mercedes-Benz E 400 cabriolet launched at Rs. 78.50 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched the E 400 cabriolet in India at a price of Rs. 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The E 400 cabriolet is powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, V6 petrol engine that develops 329 bhp and 480 Nm of torque and is mated to a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox. The gearbox can be operated by using paddle shifters and has economy and sport modes to increase or decrease the speed of the gearshift. The engine also has an Eco start/stop function. Mercedes claims that the car can do a 0-100 kph sprint in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph.

The E 400 cabriolet has a 2-door, 4-seater configuration with a 23.5 mm thick three component electric soft-top that Mercedes-Benz claims can be operated at speeds up to 40 kph and folded into the boot in 20 seconds.

The car has a redesigned front bumper, diamond radiator grille in black, 17-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights with Active Multibeam technology and daytime running lights. On the inside, the E 400 cabriolet gets newly developed, electrically adjustable front seats and a 7-inch TFT display for the infotainment system. The rear has two full-fledged seats with electric head restraints, which also act as a roll-over protection system.

The CLS 250 CDI is equipped with a keyless go system, navigation, telephone, Harman Kardon audio, video, internet and Mercedes-Benz Apps with the COMAND Online system. Safety features include airbags including special head bags, neck-pro head restraints, roll-over bars, ABS, ESP, ASR, hill-start assist, attention assist, parking assist, adaptive high beam assist and more.
