Mercedes-AMG C 63 S India launch expected in Q3 2015

Mercedes-Benz introduced the W205 C-Class in India in its petrol guise last year as a direct import. In February 2015, the German automaker launched the C-Class diesel along with the locally made C-Class petrol. According to a media report, the highly anticipated AMG C 63 S will be launched in the 3rd quarter of 2015.

As stated in the report, the C-Class AMG will be launched in its more powerful avatar i.e. the AMG C 63 S. Globally, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 is available in two variants, powered by the same 4.0-litre, V8, twin-turbo charged engine. The C 63 makes 470 BHP from 5500-6250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque at 1750-4500 rpm. 0-100 km/h comes up in a claimed 4.1 seconds. The C 63 S on the other hand makes 503 BHP from 5500-6250 rpm and 700 Nm of torque from 1750-4500 rpm. 0-100 km/h comes up in a claimed 4.0 seconds.

The C 63 AMG S will be brought to India as a direct import and prices are likely to hover around the INR 1.40 Crore mark. The BMW M3, which rivals the C 63 - was launched at around Rs 1.20 Crore in November last year. The AMG line-up in India currently includes the CLA 45 AMG and E 63 AMG sedans, SLK 55 AMG roadster, along with the GL 63 AMG, ML 63 AMG and GLA 45 AMG SUVs.
