Mercedes AMG A45 S hot-hatch to be launched this Diwali

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S is powered by a 415 BHP 2.0L turbo-petrol engine. It will be imported as a CBU.

According to a media report, Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch the AMG A45 S hot-hatch in India this Diwali.

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S packs a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that pumps out no less than 415 BHP and 500 Nm. An 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission delivers all that power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

Mercedes claims that the A45 S can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 270 km/h. The car also gets larger diameter brakes - 360 mm discs with 6-piston calipers at the front and 330 mm rotors at the rear.

Being the hottest hatchback in Mercedes' portfolio, the AMG A45 S comes with a sporty body kit. It features the Panamericana grille at the front and a roof spoiler at the back. The car rides on 19-inch alloy wheels.

Currently, the Mercedes-AMG A35 sedan is locally assembled in India. However, the A45 S will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and is therefore likely to be priced at a premium over the A35.
