Maruti Suzuki Baleno spotted undisguised; bookings open

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback has been spotted without any camouflage on the streets of Pune. The images show the car in the autumn orange shade with body-coloured bumpers, ORVMs and door handles, a rear windshield wiper, roof-mounted rear spoiler, steel wheels and no wheel covers. the ORVMs have integrated turn indicators and the badges on the car have been masked.

The Baleno will be launched on October 26, 2015. NEXA dealers have started accepting bookings for the car. The car has also appeared with a coming soon tag on the NEXA website.

The Baleno measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,520 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. The car will be available with a choice of two engines:

• 1.2-litre, VVT petrol, 83 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm @ 4,000 rpm
• 1.3-litre, DDiS diesel, 74 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm

While the petrol engine will come with a choice of a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission, the diesel engine will get a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

The Baleno will come in 4 trim levels - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
