Maruti Brezza manual variants lose mild-hybrid tech

ESP and hill-hold assist has been deleted from the Brezza CNG.

Maruti Suzuki has made a few changes to the Brezza line-up. As per the updated brochure, manual variants of the compact SUV no longer get a mild-hybrid system.

The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that develops 102 BHP and 135 Nm. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The mild-hybrid system is now reserved exclusively for automatic variants.

According to Maruti, the mild-hybrid version returns a fuel economy of up to 20.15 km/l. However, without the mild-hybrid system, the fuel economy drops to 17.38 km/l.

Besides the engine, Maruti has also made a few changes to the feature list. The Brezza now gets seatbelt reminders for all seats, along with a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, ESP and hill-hold assist. Interestingly, ESP and hill-hold assist has now been deleted from the Brezza CNG.
