Mahindra has announced that it will unveil a new SUV platform on August 15, 2025. It will be produced at the new Chakan plant near Pune.
Media reports suggest that the new platform is likely to be the New Flexible Architecture (NFA). It is a monocoque platform, which supports petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains. It is said to underpin the next-generation Mahindra Bolero.
During its Q4 2024 earnings presentation, Mahindra revealed that it plans to roll out 5 products in CY2026. These include three ICE SUVs and two battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Now, out of three ICE models planned, two are likely to be mid-life facelifts of existing models, and one of the EVs planned is said to be the Bolero EV.
The carmaker plans to build 1.2 lakh NFA-based models at its Chakan plant. A new greenfield facility is expected to be operational by FY2028.
Mahindra also confirmed that 12 new passenger vehicles will be launched by 2030. These include 7 ICE SUVs and 5 BEVs.
