Lamborghini has included a survey on their websites. While the general theme of the questions is regarding sustainability, one of the question asks about the type of powertrain technology Lamborghini should invest in - combustion engine, full electric, plug-in hybrid or fuel cell.
Lamborghini currently doesn't have any hybrid / all-electric model on sale. The carmaker's only electric car was the Sian which had a 48V e-motor along with a 6.5-litre V12 engine. However, the production was limited to only 63 units.
Rivals Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche have hybrid or all-electric offerings on sale. It is likely that Lamborghini could include a hybrid version of one of their popular cars - the Urus SUV or the Aventador.
Lamborghini Technical director Maurizio Reggiani, has told the media that an electric offering from the Italian carmaker must meet their standards of performance, which includes a top speed in excess of 300 km/h, perform 3 full laps at full power and speed on the northern track of the Nürburgring and driving dynamics. It is said that current electric technology won't be able to meet the above requirements.
