Kia expects its Indian factory to contribute almost 10% to its global production in 2022.
In 2021, Kia's Anantapur facility contributed 8% of the brand's total global output. This is expected to increase to 9.5% or almost 3 - 3.5 lakh units this year.
Last year, India was among the fastest-growing markets for Kia. It is said that the carmaker expects sales to grow at almost 33% to 2,43,000 units in 2022.
With the launch of the Carens, Kia now has four models on offer in India. According to the company's vice president of sales and marketing, Hardeep Singh Brar, the company is witnessing huge demand for made-in-India vehicles in the domestic as well as international markets.
