Jeep midsize SUV for India to use Citroen's C-cubed platform

The new Jeep will go up against popular models like the Creta, Seltos and Honda Elevate; among others.

Jeep is working on a new midsize SUV for the Indian market. It is expected to go on sale in 2026.

According to a media report, Jeep’s new midsize SUV will be based on Citroen’s C-Cubed platform. A heavily localized version of this platform underpins the Citroen C3, C3 Aircross and eC3 in India. The new SUV is expected to be around 4.3 meters long, about the same length as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The report states that Jeep’s midsize SUV is likely to get both ICE and pure-electric powertrains, with the latter being the only all-wheel drive option. It is also said that Jeep could use a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine based on the current 1.2-litre block.

Given its positioning in the market, it would be safe to assume that the Jeep midsize SUV could be priced between Rs 15-20 lakh. It will go up against popular models like the Creta, Seltos and Honda Elevate; among others.

Meanwhile, Jeep has shelved its plans to bring the next-gen Compass to India. Instead, the current model will continue beyond 2026.
