Jeep Compass: Pre-Bookings open in India

Pre-Bookings of the Jeep Compass have officially been opened across India. Interested customers can now book the SUV by visiting a FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) dealership or Jeep-exclusive outlets. The company is also accepting bookings through its official website. Booking amount of the Compass has been pegged at Rs. 50,000.

The complete 53-page long brochure of the Compass has already been leaked, revealing that the SUV will be available in three trim levels - Sport, Longitude and Limited, with the latter two also getting optional variants. The Compass is the first product under the Jeep brand to be manufactured locally, at the FCA plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. As a result, it is expected to be launched at a competitive starting price.

The India-spec Compass will be initially available with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder Multi-Jet II diesel engine, while a petrol version with a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder Multi-Air engine will be introduced at a later date. Higher versions will come with Jeep's AWD system and Selec-Terrain feature that offers four driving modes: Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud.

The Compass will be available in 5 colours - Minimal Grey, Exotica Red, Hydro Blue, Vocal White and Hip Hop Black. It is expected to be launched in August and will compete against the VW Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson.
