Jaguar Type 00 EV concept to be showcased in Mumbai on June 14

The Type 00 concept previews Jaguar's upcoming 4-door electric GT.

The Jaguar Type 00 EV concept is currently on a world tour. After being unveiled in Munich and Tokyo, it will make a stopover in India. The futuristic EV concept will be showcased at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai on June 14.

Jaguar presented the Type 00 concept during Miami Art Week in December last year. It previews the brand’s upcoming 4-door electric GT and the first of its all-new range of EVs.

Now, like any other concept car, the Type 00 features a radical design. However, the uncharacteristic styling was just the start of Jaguar’s troubles. The rebranding exercise and the associated media campaign came under intense criticism from the public as well as the global media.

Coming back to the car itself, the Type 00 concept features a boxy design with an elongated bonnet and a coupe-like roofline. It has the brand’s new “Device Mark” logo flanked by sleep LED headlights. The car doesn’t have a rear windscreen but instead gets a glazed roof, which lets light inside the cabin.

The production version of the Type 00 concept will be based on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). The all-electric 4-door GT is said to offer up to 770 km of range (WLTP cycle). It will make its global debut in late 2025, before going on sale in 2026.
